The O'Neill Lady Eagles Golf Team traveled to Columbus last week to play at the Elks Country Club in Columbus for the 2022 Class C Girls State Golf Tournament on Monday, Oct. 11 and Tuesday, Oct. 12. The teams at the Class C State Tournament were Adams Central, Archbishop Bergan, Broken Bow, Chadron, Hershey, Laurel-CC, Lincoln Christian, Lincoln Lutheran, Minden, Oakland-Craig, O'Neill, Scotus, Superior, Valentine and Wayne. Winning the Class C State Championship was Broken Bow with a team score of 688 in two rounds of golf. The O'Neill Lady Eagles finished in sixth place as a team with a score of 786. The lone medalist for O'Neill was junior Kaylin Gaughenbaugh as she finished with a 35 over par 179 and placed 11th. “I am very proud with how we closed out our season! We finished sixth as a team and Kaylin Gaughenbaugh placed 11th individually," said Coach Ashley Belmer.
