Augusta, KS — Gary Ray Cullen, 65, of Augusta, KS died Friday, March 4, 2022 at his home in Augusta, KS. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Word of Life Church in O'Neill. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the church in O'Neill. Memorials may be made to Joyce Cullen at 1 Shamrock Lane, Augusta, KS 67010 for the Gary Cullen Memorial Fund. Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta, KS is in charge of the arrangements. Gary was born to the late Neva (Walton) and Dale Cullen on July 5, 1956 in O'Neill. After school Gary spent many years working on the family ranch before moving to Madrid in 2000 to operate a hog confinement. His last and personal favorite job was working as a custodian at Lincoln Elementary School in Augusta, KS. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children, grandchildren and family, as well as sneaking away for a good game of golf. Gary was a devoted Nebraska Cornhusker fan but enjoyed watching his grandchildren's activities even more. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Joyce (Rzeszotarski) Cullen, they married on Sept. 3, 1982 in Lake Andes, SD; his first wife Sandy Allen and their son Craig (Janet) Cullen of Plattsmouth; his five children with Joyce, Nicole (Allen) Cooper of Augusta, KS, Tonya (Nick) Brown of Ogallala, Amber (Spencer) Farha of Concordia, KS, Brent (Cheyenne) Cullen and Matthew (Paulina) Cullen, all of Emmet and Jessica Kerr; two brothers Harvey Cullen of Emmet and Dennis Cullen of O'Neill; one sister Mary (Mike) Kavan of Valpariso; and 27 grandchildren Trevor Cullen, Karen Goeschel, Blake Plugge, Ajay Cullen, Johnny Goechel, Morgan Cullen, Lexi Weems, Annabel Owens, Gary Cullen, Payton Cooper, Sophia Plugge, Chloe Weems, Macon Farha, Sophie Cooper, Stella Weems, Ian Cullen, Jaden Farha, Anabella Brown, Carson Farha, Louden Brown, Olivia Weems, Brevin Farha, Chaynee Cullen, Taylee Cullen, Banks Farha, Gaines Cullen and Asher Cullen. He was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Taylor, a grandson Logan Plugge and his father-in-law Donald Rzeszotarski.
