Erna E. Liermann

Amelia — Erna E. Liermann, 96, of Amelia, died Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society in Atkinson.

Visitation was held Friday, June 23, 2023, at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

A private burial will be held at a later date in Chambers Cemetery in Chambers.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Erna E. Penner was born June 14, 1927 in Henderson to Jacob and Helena (Epp) Penner. She graduated from high school at Luton, Iowa, and later Sioux City, Iowa school of business.

On Sept. 23, 1955, Erna was united in marriage to Gene W. Liermann.

Erna is survived by two daughters Shari (Darrell) Buoy of Burwell and Jeannette (Robert) Kloppenborg of Marysville, KS; one son Charles Liermann of Amelia; five grandchildren Barbara (Mike) Trollope of Albion, Brenda (Everett) Brott of Burwell, Jason (Ember) Buoy of Loup City, Sara (Zach) Kress of Beatrice and Chris (Diane) Kloppenborg of Beatrice; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law and one brothers-in-law Mershon (Lonny) Franssen of Amelia and Wayne Lakin of Burwell.

Erna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene Liermann, four brothers and five sisters.
