Eagles Take Five Point Win Over West Point - Beemer

The O'Neill Eagles have worked hard this season to end up with one regular season game remaining and breaking even at 4-4 before facing Wayne on Thursday, Oct. 20.

The Cadets went into the match at 2-5 with their only wins over Arlington and Ponca.

The Eagles scored 13 unanswered points in the first quarter and added a touchdown and two more before the half for the 20-0 lead.

The Cadets took the initiative in the second half scoring six in the third and 10 in the fourth but time ran out for the Cadets and the Eagles secured the win.

Drew Morrow led the Eagles as Quarterback throwing 20 times for 13 completions and two touchdowns and had a two-point conversion.

Porter Mathews had a good night leading the Eagles in rushing with 12 carries for 90 yards, Brady Eichelberger 12 carries for 27 yards, Morrow seven carries for 23 yards, Grady Welke four carries for 11 yards and one touchdown and Clay Shaw two carries for nine yards.

Ryder Pokorny led the Eagle receivers with three catches for 67 yards and two touchdowns, Walker Peter six catches for 71 yards, and Shaw with four catches for 29 yards.

Sal Rodriquez led the Eagle defense with 12 tackles and two sacks; Porter Mathews had eight tackles and one sack; Pokorny, Alex Molina, and Tucker Shabram had five tackles each; Morrow and Shaw had three tackles each; Reese Grosch had two tackles and Eichelberger and Noah Manchester one tackle each.

The Eagles will face Wayne on Thursday, Oct. 20, at home for their final regular season game.
