O'Neill's Drew Morrow falls into the end zone for a touchdown in last Friday's game against West Holt.

The Eagle football team traveled to Atkinson to take on the West Holt Huskies on Friday, Sept. 9. The Eagles offense could score but kept the Huskies at bay until the fourth when they scored.

The Eagles got their offense game going with a 69-yard touchdown pass from Landon Classen to Ryder Pokorny and Sal Rodriguez kicked the extra point for the Eagles.

The Eagle defense held tough as they held the Huskies to 86 yards total offense, and the offense put up 313 yards of offense.

The Eagle's second score in the first quarter came on a pass from Classen to Drew Morrow on a 23-yard touchdown pass. Rodriguez kicked in the PAT.

The Eagle defense kept the Huskies on their turf for most of the game, so when the Eagles did get the ball, they started in a good position for scoring. The second-quarter scoring was Classen running in a four-yard touchdown and then on an 11-yard touchdown pass to Morrow. Rodriguez nailed the two PATs for the Eagles.

The third quarter saw the Husky defense keep the Eagles down to a nine-yard touchdown run by Classen, and then the Huskies did get on the board when Drake Nemetz hit Andrew Rentschler on an 88-yard touchdown pass with no time on the clock.

Classen threw 16 times for 11 completions for 169 yards and three touchdowns.

Lincoln Konrad threw nine times for two completions, and Nemeta threw three times for one completion and one touchdown.

Classen led the Eagles with nine carries and 62 yards and two touchdowns, Porter Mathews eight carries for 39 yards, Pryor Mathews five carries for 35 yards, Grady Welke four carries for 18 yards, and Brady Eichelberger three carries for three yards.

Mason Krumrine led the Huskies in rushing with eight carries for 23 yards and Just Cosaert with one carry for three yards.

Pokorny led the Eagles with one catch for 92 yards and one touchdown, Morrow four receptions for 51 yards and two touchdowns, Hunter Wilson one for 20 yards, Walker Peter one for eight yards, and Dylan Parks one catch for four yards.

Leading the Husky receivers were Rentschler with one catch for 88 yards and one touchdown, Kruz Jelinek with one catch for 10 yards and Ian Laetsch with one catch for four yards.

Leading the Eagle defense were Tucker Shabram and Rodriguez with four tackles each, and Classen, Porter Mathews, Week, Clay Shaw, Pryer Mathews, Noah Manchester, Maddox Hammerlun, Colton Osborne and Walker Peter with two.

Leading the Husky defense was Caleb Davis with six tackles; Lincoln Konrad with five tackles; Nick Hansen and Crumrine with four tackles each; Jelinek, Nemetz, Laetsch, and Tripp Uecker all with three tackles; Marek Dvorak, Issac Pistulkas, Grant Osborne and Jack Hoffman all with two tackles; Rentschler, AJ Olson, Zeke Klabenes and Vinny Blackford all with one tackle.
