The O'Neill Eagles competed in the 61st O'Neill Track & Field Invitational. The O'Neill Boys placed fourth out of eleven teams. South Sioux City won the team title. The O'Neill Team won three gold medals. Keaton Wattier remains unbeaten in the 110 high hurdles. Wattier ran 15.88 in the finals. Keaton also won the 300 intermediate hurdles with a time of 42.82. Junior, Tyler Diediker, won the long jump with an effort of 19' 3”. Pryor Mathews placed sixth in 110 high hurdles and Drew Morrow placed third in the 300 intermediate hurdles. In the 800-meter run, Landon Classen placed fourth with his season best of 2:10.66. In triple jump action, Landon Classen placed second, Tyler Diediker fourth, and Drew Morrow fifth. Sean Coventry was also second in the high jump with an effort of 6'. Joseph Engelbart placed fifth in the shot put. The 4 x 100 was ran by four seniors that placed third. Relay members were Sean Coventry, Fabian Acevedo, Keaton Wattier, and Michael McAllister. This week the O'Neill Eagles will travel to Grand Island Northwest and compete in the Dan Gee Invitational on Thursday, April 21.
