The O'Neill Lady Eagles are setting at 5-4 at the end of August after facing some tough opponents and some tough tournaments. This past week the Eagles won four times with a huge victory over Wayne.

A walk-off home run propelled O'Neill Eagles Varsity to a decisive, dramatic victory over Wayne, 4-3. The game was tied at three with the Eagles batting in the bottom of the seventh when Autumn Emme hit a solo homer.

The girls got on the board in the first inning when Harley Cahoy drew a walk, scoring one run.

Ryanne Pistulka was credited with the victory for O'Neill Eagles Varsity. She lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out five.

Sammi Gubbels took the loss for Wayne. The lefthander surrendered two runs on three hits over one and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one.

Kendall Dorey started the game for Wayne. The right-hander went five innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out eight.

The Eagles launched one home run on the day. Emme put one out in the seventh inning.

Emme, Mariana Montes, Zelie Sorensen, and Charley Mlnarik collected one hit to lead O'Neill Eagles Varsity. O'Neill Eagles Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Montes had five chances in the field, the most on the team.

Taytum Sweetland went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Wayne in hits. Wayne was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Hope O'Reilly made the most plays with 12.

On Thursday, the Eagles Varsity beat Ponca 7-3. The varsity got things started in the first inning when Mlnarik doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

The Eagles notched three runs in the third inning. Batters contributing to the big inning included Mlnarik and Pistulka, who all drove in runs.

Pistulka was the winning pitcher for O'Neill and surrendered three runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out seven.

Kaylie Heiner took the loss for Ponca. The right-hander went seven innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and striking out six.

The Eagles collected nine hits. Mlnarik, Emma Smith, and Zelie Sorensen all managed multiple hits for O'Neill. 

Mlnarik went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead O'Neill in hits.

Saturday was a long day for O'Neill Eagles Varsity, falling to Hwy 91 7-0.

One bright spot for O'Neill was a single by Emma Wrede in the first inning.

Jaedyn Ratzlaff led Hwy 91 to victory on the rubber. The hurler surrendered zero runs on four hits over six innings, striking out six.

Pistulka lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out seven.

The Eagles had all cylinders firing on offense on Saturday, winning big over Pierce 12-1

The Lady Eagles fired up the offense in the first inning. Zelie Sorensen singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

O'Neill Eagles Varsity scored six runs in the second inning. Wrede, Mlnarik, Emme, and Kiersten Welke all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Emma Smith was the winning pitcher for O'Neill Eagles Varsity. The righty allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out four.

Trina Wetzel took the loss for Pierce. The pitcher surrendered five runs on three hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

The Eagles socked one home run on the day. Mlnarik went deep in the second inning.

Harley Cahoy went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead O'Neill Eagles Varsity in hits. O'Neill Eagles Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Welke had the most chances in the field with four.

On Saturday, the Lady O'Neill Eagles Varsity took the lead late in an 8-3 victory over Boone Central. The game was tied at two with OHS batting in the top of the fifth when Mlnarik singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

The girls notched four runs in the sixth inning. O'Neill's big inning was driven by a single by Smith, Mlnarik, and an error on a ball put in play by Alyssa Fehringer.

Pistulka took the win for O'Neill. The right-hander allowed five hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out ten.

Ashtyn Hedlund took the loss for Boone Central. The right-hander lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and eight runs while striking out six.

Boone Central socked two home runs on the day. Carlie Langan went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Madisyn Cunningham had a homer in the sixth inning.

The Eagles tallied 12 hits on the day. Pistulka, Smith, and Mariana Montes each collected multiple hits for O'Neill. Smith and Pistulka each managed three hits to lead O'Neill Eagles Varsity.
