The O'Neill Eagles played host to the Norfolk Catholic Knights last Tuesday, Jan. 25. The Eagles had quite the battle but came away with a three-point win. The game was tight the whole way with the Eagles leading by one at the half 26-25. The Eagles' offense tried to pull ahead in the third but the Knights kept within four points. The Knights tried to overpower the Eagles in the fourth but the three-point lead sufficed for the win. Landon Classen led the Eagles with 17 points, five rebounds and three steals; Brady Sidak 17 points and three rebounds; Keaton Wattier 11 points and seven rebounds; Drew Morrow seven points, two rebounds and two steals; Ryder Pokorny three points; and Kyler Dean two points and two rebounds. The first half was true to form for the rivalry with the Huskies keeping pace through the first quarter and trailing by only five. The Huskies fought for the lead at the half but came short by four points 27-23. The Eagles outpaced the Huskies in the second half, exceeding the Huskies by 12 points for the win. Morrow led the Eagles with 21 points; Classen 19 points, one rebound and two steals; Wattier 16 points and 10 rebounds; Sidak seven points, five rebounds and two steals; Sean Coventry three points, one rebound and two steals; and Colton Osborne two points, and one rebound.
