The O'Neill Eagles football team made easy work of the Schuyler Warriors in O'Neill on Friday, Sept. 2 in O'Neill. The Eagles made easy work of the inexperienced Schuyler. The Eagles put up 43 points in the first three quarters, holding the first and second teams to a blank scoreboard. Landon Classen threw nine times for seven completions and 152 yards, Drew Morrow threw two times and had two completions for 10 yards. Classen led the Eagles, rushing with 13 carries for 133 yards and three touchdowns; Brady Eichelberger had seven carries for 58 yards and two touchdowns; Pryor Mathews 11 carries for 50 yards; Grady Welke two carries for eight yards; Morrow four carries for three yards; and Porter Mathews with four carries for two yards. Walker Peter led receiving for the Eagles with one reception for 60 yards and one touchdown; Morrow two catches for 49 yards; Eichelberger four receptions for 30 yards; and Ryder Pokorny two receptions for 23 yards. Porter Mathews led the Eagle defense with five tackles, Classen three tackles, Tucker Shabram three tackles, Hunter Wilson two tackles, Eichelberger two tackles, Alex Molina two tackles, Welke one tackle and Dylan Parks one tackle. Porter Mathews had one interception for negative three yards and Turner Heiss one interception for 16 yards. The Eagles will travel to Atkinson to take on the Huskies on Friday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
