Dolores was born Jan. 19, 1930 to Charley and Izetta (Rossman) Tasler in Atkinson. She grew up on the Tasler Ranch, attending country school and then graduating from Atkinson High School in 1948.

This is where she met a “handsome boy” and fell in love. Dolores married Lyle Addison on April 25, 1949. They were soon blessed with six children Blaine, Bonnie, Joy, Lois, Larry and Lloyd.

Lyle, Dolores and their children moved 22 miles northeast of Atkinson in 1961, where they made a life on the Addison Ranch. Dolores worked hard for many years milking cows, raking hay and raising her children.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, quilting and sewing, going to auctions, playing cards and, of course, collecting her beloved buttons.

Dolores was good at many things, but her pride and joy was being called “Grandma.” She always had treats like ice cream floats and gumdrops on hand for her grandchildren. She taught her grandkids how to work hard and play harder. Dolores enjoyed taking them fishing (and showing them the art of cane-pole casting), teaching them to crochet and embroidery and how to play a mean round or two of pitch.  When it came to grandmas, she was easily one of the best. Grandma Dolores always had time to sit and listen or wipe away tears when she was needed. When the grandkids were grown, it was time for her to do the same with her great-grandchildren.

Dolores stayed on the ranch until 2015 when she moved to Elkhorn Meadows in Atkinson. There she loved hosting visitors and showing off her collections of buttons, thimbles and “dirt” from around the world. She enjoyed armchair coaching Nebraska Husker football, basketball and volleyball—and would recount scores and big plays if you missed the game. She rarely missed sending birthday cards to loved ones. She passed the time with her embroidery, crochet and trips out to the ranch to make sure all was in order. Dolores had tables at the Atkinson Craft Fair for decades—including the most recent one in November.

In December 2022, Dolores moved to Arbor Care nursing home in O'Neill, where she would stay for the rest of her earthly life. What is more glorious than meeting Jesus? Meeting Jesus on your birthday! Dolores went home to Heaven on Jan. 19, 2023—her 93rd birthday—at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill, with loved ones by her side. We are certain she had a beautiful welcoming party in Heaven with so many of her loved ones who had gone before her and whom she missed so much.

Dolores is survived by two daughters Bonnie (Gary) Lech of Atkinson and Joy Potts of Norfolk; two daughters-in-law Pam Addison (Greg Tomjack) of Atkinson and Lynette Addison of Norfolk; one son-in-law Martin Strampher of Burwell; 10 grandchildren James, Chyla, Shane, Matthew, Heidi, Julie, Justin, Amy, Timothy and Alicia; four sisters-in-law Wilma Tasler, Dee (Jim) Veeder, Eve Simpson and Judy (Bob) Knutson; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle; parents Charley and Izetta Tasler; parents-in-law Cap and Amber Addison; three sons Blaine, Larry and Lloyd; one daughter Lois Strampher; two grandsons Jason Lech and Nathan Strampher; two brothers Blaine and Charles Tasler; and two brothers-in-law John and Marvin Addison.
