Dale James Harbison, 49, of O'Neill, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Faith Community Church in O'Neill. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the church in O'Neill. Dale's wishes were to be cremated. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements. Dale was born on Dec. 23, 1974 to Dale and Jacylyn (Loveless) Harbison in Schuyler. Dale graduated from Oxford High School with the Class of 1993. After high school he traveled around working with his father. On June 6, 1996 he was united in marriage to Nicole Greis to this union four children were born Patricia, Makayla, Dale and Jonathon. During this time, he worked at Rhonda's Café, the gravel pit with his friend Robert Cullen, and at the sale barn. When they moved to Fremont, he worked at USA Steak Buffet with his friend Shawn Winters after the Steak Buffet closed, he moved to Kearney and worked at Culvers and in this time is when he met the love of his life and they decided to move to Ord. On Feb. 28, 2016 he was united to Kris McCain. He worked at the Ord Public Schools as a custodian where he met some very special people. He was an avid Chanticleer fan and he was very proud of what he called his students. In 2021 they moved to O'Neill to be closer to the grandchildren. He worked as a custodian at O'Neill High School where he met a lot of new friends and reunited with old friends. Dale is survived by his wife Kris of O'Neill; his parents Dale and Jacylyn of Enid, OK; his four children Patricia of Lincoln, Makayla (Caden) Hill of Burwell, Dale Jerome of Fremont and Jonathon of Hooper; one stepson Jesse (Jamie) Burson of O'Neill; two grandchildren Jackson Burson and Jayleigha Burson of O'Neill; three sisters Kimberly (special friend Lewis) of Grand Island, Cadance (Everado) Montezuma of Fremont and Catherine (Kelly) Hansen of Phoenix, AZ; one brother Kenneth (Tracy) of Lexington; two brothers-in-law Kylie (Stefanie) McCain and Kody (Ruth) McCain, all of Ord; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father- and mother- in-law Willard and Shirley McCain.
