Couple's Dream Comes Together At Physical Therapy Center

OPEN FOR BUSINESS - Neu You Physical Therapy opened In O'Neill during the middle of October. Pictured are owners Erin and Elliot Neuheisel.

An O'Neill couple's dream has a storefront and is up and running. Neu You Physical Therapy has been in their storefront at 118 S. 4th, and the couple started working together on Oct. 15, 2023.

Elliot and Erin Neuheisel both originate from South Dakota. Elliot, born in Plankinton, and Erin in Timber Lake, went from college to O'Neill 13 years ago.

The Neuheisel's both attained their Ph.D. in Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota Vermillion in 2010 and wanted to practice in a small-town environment. "The size of towns and availability of jobs in South Dakota didn't allow us to work in the same town" said Elliot.

"I worked in O'Neill as a Physical Therapist at Avera St. Anthony's, and Erin worked in Atkinson."

"We wanted to own and operate our own business, so when the opportunity came up, and we were also able to find a building to buy, we took our shot and made it happen," said Elliot.

The couple provides services related to orthopedic conditions, sports medicine, back pain, incontinence, urinary frequency, pelvic pain, prolapse, postpartum pain, episiotomy scar pain, diastasis recti, pediatric musculoskeletal issues, geriatric musculoskeletal conditions, vertigo, neck pain, balance disorders and more.

Erin has worked in various settings, including out-patient, long-term care and school-based physical therapy. She has specialized her skills to accommodate a variety of populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics and women's health. She is passionate about helping women achieve their highest quality of life by conquering pelvic health impairments and equipping them with the tools they need to overcome their personal health obstacles.

Elliot has worked primarily with in- and out-patient treatment and has experience treating various conditions, with a particular interest in orthopedics, vestibular function and balance disorders.

The Neuheisel's have four children: Hayden, 10; Hudson, 8; Nova, 6; and Tatum, 4.
