Clifford "Jr." William Rash, 62, of O'Neill, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 at his home in O'Neill surrounded by family and friends. 

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022 at Word of Life Christian Center in O'Neill.

Burial will be held at a later date in Gregory, SD.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements.

Clifford “Jr” was born on Sept. 10, 1960 in Winner, SD to Clifford and Virginia (Hannahs) Rash.  He attended Gregory Public Schools through the eighth grade. Jr then worked for his cousin Bud for several years on the family farm. 

Jr. enjoyed entering rodeos, especially bull riding.  

He worked many jobs in his time to pay the bills, but notably he worked for a time in Washington state for an irrigation company and then he worked for a fencing crew. Locally, he worked for Herd Co. until he was forced to retire due to health reasons in 2006. 

Jr. married his childhood friend Cheryl Totton on Aug. 17, 1995 in Gregory, SD. Jr. adopted John and Brett in March 1997.

He loved to tinker and was always tearing things apart. He enjoyed rodeos, watching Westerns, camping, fishing and spending time with his family.  He loved animals, especially his dogs and cats. 

Special thanks to Brandy Hoven for being there and for being a wonderful daughter to Papa. Also to all the kids who called him Dad or Papa. Thank you, it meant a lot to Jr.

Jr. is survived by his wife of 27 years Cheryl Rash of O'Neill; two sons John Rash of O'Neill and Brett (Jacqueline) Rash of Columbus; two grandchildren Rory and Eliza Rash; his mother Virginia Rash of Gregory, SD; three sisters Mary (Mike) Aronson of Kimball, SD, Dawn (Rick) Boyer of Armour, SD and Kelly Kolbe of Gregory, SD; two sisters-in-law Julie (Steve) Esterling of Gregory, SD and Jenna (Amber) Underhill of Colome, SD; one brother-in-law Mike (Donna) Totton of Gregory, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Clifford Rash, grandma Hazel Totton and niece Katie Lou Kolbe.
