Cardinals Host Invitational On Wednesday April 23

Last Wednesday, Apr. 23, the small town of O'Neill was packed with visitors when St. Mary's hosted their own track meet. Many athletes and spectators alike attended.

The Cardinals put up good results, with both the boys and girls teams landing in 4th place. 

Max Berg killed it in the 1600 Meter run, taking first by a whole 14 seconds ahead of second place. Evan Cole wasn't far behind when he took 6th place. The pair struck again in the 3200 meter run where Berg again took top honors and Cole snuck into 6th place.

The Cardinal boys also made an impression in the 300m Hurdles, where Ben Barlow took the top spot with a time of 42.70. Ben Pongratz also managed ninth place.

Annabelle Barlow made a statement in the opening track event, taking 1st place, followed closely by Casey Clements in 6th.

The team of Emerson Mlnarik, Annabelle Barlow, Elle Hoffman and Adyson Petersen ran circles around the compeition during the Girls 4x800 Relay where they shaved a full minute off of second place.

The Cardinals stole the show during the field events. Dalton Harley in the shot put event, Jace Rosenkrans in Discus and Ben Barlow in the high jump all took runner up. Ben Barlow, Gage Hedstrom and Annabelle Barlow took top honors in the Long Jump, Triple Jump and Pole Vault, respectively.
