The St. Mary's Cardinal girls have yet to lose a game this season, and last week kept their streak alive. The first of their two matches was the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors, who traveled to face the Cardinals. Quarter one put the Cardinals ahead by just four, but it was still a solid start. The second quarter the Warriors gave it their all and beat the Cards 10-9. After losing quarter two, the Cards went all out and took third by 16 points. Now up 19 points, the Cards were nearly untouchable. Quarter four further widened the gap between the two and the Cardinals took the win 63-33. Mya Hedstrom scored and impressive 26 points, shooting four of eight three-pointers for 50 percent and five of 12 two-pointers for 42 percent. Hedstrom also had 13 rebounds and eight steals; Alissa Brabec had 15 points, one rebound and two steals; Lorissa Reiman 12 points, 19 rebounds and one steal; Gracie Williamson five points, five rebounds and two steals; Annabelle Barlow two points, seven rebounds and six steals; and Adyson Peterson one point and one steal. SMHS 14 9 19 21 63 NOHS 10 10 3 10 33 The girls would take three days off, but on Friday, Dec. 15 the North Central Knights would visit and the Cards would take them out 72-41. The opening quarter was a statement from the Cardinals, winning 25-7. Quarter two calmed things down but the Cards still took it by three points. The Knights went full throttle and managed to overpower the Cardinals in the third, taking it 18-15. The Cards still had the advantage and the final quarter only further cemented it when they won 19-6. Now up by 31 points, the Cardinals took the win 72-41. Brabec takes first with 22 points, shooting five of 12 three-pointers for 42 percent and three of five two-pointers for 60 percent. Brabec also had one rebound and one steal; Hedstrom had 18 points, nine rebounds and three steals; Reiman 16 points, 19 rebounds and four steals; Williamson six points, four rebounds and three steals; Barlow six points, three rebounds and seven steals; Peterson four points, one rebound and one steal; and Lily Bauer one rebound.
