The Stuart Bronco football team hosted the Red Hornets from Heartland Lutheran (Grand Island) last Friday afternoon. On the first play of the game, Kayde Ramm hit Ben Paxton for a 45 yard touchdown and the Broncos didn't slow down from there. The Broncos were up 38-12 at half and came out and scored 22 points in the 3rd quarter on the way to a 60-18 victory. Kayde Ramm had a career high with 6 touchdown passes in the game. Ramm completed 10/12 passes for 150 yards. Ramm hit 7 different receivers for the afternoon. His leading target was Ben Paxton. Paxton had 3 catches for 79 yards and 3 touchdowns. Gavynn Mustin, Hunter Tubbs and Zane Doke all had a touchdown reception. Simon Addison led the way on the ground for Broncos. Addison racked up 140 yards on just 8 carries. Two of those carries were for touchdowns including a 66 yarder. Freshman, Bryer Almgren, found the end zone again on the ground. Ben Paxton led the way on the defensive side of the ball. Paxton had 11 tackles. Cameron Kaup wasn't far behind with 7. The leading tackler for the Broncos, Owen Littau, had 6 tackles for the contest and senior, Cory Gubbels, had 5. The Broncos will finally be under the lights this Friday night in Stuart. The Broncos host St. Edward for their homecoming game. We will be recognizing the state runner up team from 2013 at halftime.
