Last week the St. Mary's Cardinals managed to surpass their longest win streak from last year. They are currently 13 wins deep into this season. Last year's best streak was 11. The first game of the week was came on Tuesday, September 19, where the Boyd County Spartans visited the Cardinals and lost 2-0; 25-16 & 25-11 From the start, the Cards made it clear they weren't messing around. They took set one 25-16 and didn't stop there. Set two was a landslide win for the Cards, taking it 25-11. Mya Hedstrom had the most kills with 10, also four ace serves and three digs; Lorissa Reiman eight kills, three ace serves, three digs and one set assist; Pyper Ickes six kills, five digs and one set assist; Alissa Brabec one kill, three digs and 22 set assists; Annabelle Barlow two ace serves and two digs; Joslyn Eby two ace serves; and Emma Otte one ace serve. A couple of days later saw the Cardinals host Randolph. This match easily showed a Cardinal advantage, allowing them to win cleanly, 3-0; 25-8, 25-11 & 25-10. The Cardinals made a strong impression, coming out with 25 and holding Randolph to just eight. Sets two and three fared a little better for the opposition, but the were still no match for the lady Cardinals. Reiman killed it with 12 kills, six ace serves, one block and two digs; Hedstrom 11 kills, five ace serves, three blocks, and six digs; Williamson eight kills, one block, two digs and one set assist; Brabec three kills, two ace serves, two digs and 25 set assists; Ickes two kills, one ace serves, 11 digs and two set assists; Eby one kill, one ace serve, one block, one dig and one set assist; Otte one kill, 11 digs and one set assist; Barlow three ace serves; three digs and one set assist; and Hannah Gleason one ace serve.
