The Stuart Broncos football team hosted the Cody Kilgore Cowboys last Friday afternoon. The Cowboys came into the contest as the number four team rated in the state. The Broncos hung tough, but after a late score from the Cowboys, the Broncos fell 26-6. The Cowboys started out hot and scored 14 points on two drives against the Broncos. In the second quarter, the Broncos made it a one-score game after a four-yard touchdown run from Will Paxton. The beginning of the fourth quarter still had a 14-6 game. The Cowboys scored a touchdown in the middle of the fourth quarter to make it 20-6. With three minutes left in the game, the Broncos scored on a hook and ladder, but the play was called back due to a penalty. The score ended 26-6. Freshman, Kayde Ramm, led the team in total yards with 122. Ramm was 10-18 threw the air with 71 yards passing. He had 51 yards on the ground. Simon Addison led the team with six catches for 38 yards. Will Paxton had the lone touchdown for the Broncos. Defensively, the Broncos were led by Haden Kaup. Kaup finished with 12 tackles. Ben Paxton wasn't far behind Kaup with 11 tackles. Freshman Owen Littau finished the game with eight. Hunter Tubbs had a fumble recovery for the Broncos. The Broncos will host Brady Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
