Avera St. Anthony's Hospital administrative assistant Deb Frederick was among those the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) named honorees in the 2022 Caring Kind awards. “Deb is a great example of the Avera mission in action,” said Avera St. Anthony's Hospital CEO Kayleen Lee. “She's a vital part of our facility's success, and she deserves this praise. We're blessed to have her on our team.” Frederick's nomination noted her genuine nature and sincerity, and how she thrives in her efforts to serve others. “An example of this was her effort to go above and beyond her normal duties during COVID,” it stated. “Our hospital, like so many others, had to find ways to ensure staff could monitor facility entrances. We needed someone who could put our patients, families and visitors at ease throughout these extraordinary times, and she did just that. Deb constantly steps up to fill in wherever she can.” The NHA presents “The Caring Kind” awards each year, and it has honored nearly 2,750 of Nebraska's most caring and dedicated hospital and health system employees. The 2022 awards marks 43 years of the NHA presenting these honors. Each NHA member hospital and health system nominates one employee from their facility who exemplifies caring, compassion, teamwork and service excellence in their job responsibilities. Honorees received their awards at the October NHA Annual Convention.
