O'Neill's 37th Summerfest will kick off next week in O'Neill running from Monday, July 11 through Sunday, July 17. The Artfest will lead off the activities at the Christ Connection Center starting on Monday. On Wednesday, July 13 the Upper Elkhorn NRD will be hosting a 50th Anniversary Open House at their facility at 301. N Harrison in O'Neill. At 5 p.m. there will be the painting of the World's Largest Shamrock with fun for all who would like to participate and the O'Neill Fire Department will have a truck spraying water for the little ones who need to cool off. At 7:30 p.m. a presentation of Beauty and the Beast will be held at the O'Neill High School in the old gym. On Thursday, July 14 the annual duck hunt will begin at 9:30 a.m. with prizes of one per household for each duck brought back into the O'Neill Chamber Office. There will be a kids' paint party at the Christ Connection Center from 3 -5 p.m. Friday, July 15 the annual Summerfest Rodeo will be held at O'Neill's Carol McKay arena starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16 will be busy with the Sidewalk Sales running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as well as a vendor fair in the park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Ford Park. The Car Show will run from Noon to 4 p.m. The Summerfest Rodeo will be held again starting at 7:30 p.m. The Summerfest Concert will start at 9 p.m. at the O'Neill Community Center parking lot. The Sunset Sinners will open for Ian Munsick who will take the stage at 10 p.m. Summerfest will conclude on Sunday, July 17 with the 10 a.m. church in the park with a BBQ to follow.
