Jeffrey Barnes Sr., a man who has evaded law enforcement since April of last year was finally arrested Tuesday, Oct. 1 in Atkinson Nebraska. Barnes was previously arrested June 11, 2017 in connection with an attempted murder case relating to a shooting at a residence in Lone Pine, California on May 23 back in 2017. Fast forward seven years and Barnes was captured again, this time facing burglary charges. It was March 19, 2023 in Mineral County, Nevada. Several homes were broken into in Marietta, a community in Mineral County. The Mineral County Sheriff's Office recovered all of the stolen items. Authorities got an arrest warrant for Barnes, their main suspect. Since he had been evading law enforcement, the Mineral County Sheriff's Office enlisted the help of the U.S. Marshals Office. Barnes was arrested in Nebraska Oct. 1 by the Nebraska State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service. Barnes and some other accomplices were the main suspects in the 2023 burglaries.
