Orchard — Gary Gene Cleveland, 74, of Orchard, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025 at the Arbor Care Center in O'Neill. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the United Methodist Church in Orchard. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the church in Orchard. Janene Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in the Orchard Hill Cemetery in Orchard. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements. Gary was born Sept. 2nd, 1950 to Donald and Kathryn (Rodgers) Cleveland of Orchard. Gary attended country school till the eighth grade, then continued his education at Orchard High School till graduation in 1968. In the fall of 1968, Gary attended Southeast Community College in Milford. Gary had chosen diesel mechanics. After one semester, the school contacted Gary's parents to inform them he was already proficient in Diesel Mechanics and they wouldn't be able to teach him anything further, as he had already learned everything prior to attending school. Gary then returned to the family farm in Orchard, where he worked alongside his father. He also worked at the Cleveland Farm Supply Company in Orchard. Through life, Gary enjoyed horses, pets and raising livestock. Growing up, he had a horse name "Smokey" that was his favorite horse he ever owned. During his adult life, Gary was contacted by many different people throughout the United States in regards to his knowledge base on Allis-Chambers farm equipment. He was considered a valuable resource for many people needing instruction on fixing this particular brand of farm equipment. Gary truly valued his family, especially spending time with his nieces and nephews. In 2010, Gary sold the family farm, retired and moved to Orchard. Gary came out of retirement to work for Dale Stelling, which he truly enjoyed. In 2019, Gary moved to Evergreen Assisted living due to health issues. In May 2025, Gary then moved to Arbor Care Center to receive additional care. Gary was a people person and made many lasting friends throughout his life. He always had a way of making people laugh. He truly loved being a prankster and enjoyed sharing jokes. He loved his nieces and nephews, enjoyed farm life, horses and the Price is Right. Gary is survived by his aunt Patty Radar Eucker of Norfolk; nieces and nephews Tammy (Tim) Spangler of Prague, Scott (Sonya) Cleveland of Norfolk and Michelle Cleveland of Wood River; great-nieces and -nephews Lucas Spangler, Klinton Spangler, Colton (Cortney) Spangler. Myles Cleveland, Torsten Kaup, Morgan (Phil) North, Madisyn (Kody) Cheney, Baylee Cheney, Lynnsay Cheney, Dalton Cleveland, Preston Cleveland, Triston Munson, Brittany Fitcher and Andrew Fitcher; four great-great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and many cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents Don and Kathryn Cleveland, his brother Dean Cleveland, one niece Rebecca Cleveland, both set of his grandparents and one great-great-nephew Wiley Spangler.
