ST. MARY'S (23) GRACIE WILLIAMSON gets stopped by Bronco (24) Addison Steinhauser. The Cards barely managed to slip through Stuart's defenses and took last Thursday's game 43-41 in Stuart.

The St. Mary's Lady Cardinals had another clean sweep last week when they faced three schools, one on which was Boyd County in the first round of the NVC Tournament. First, they visited Creighton last Tuesday, Jan. 28, and crushed them 63-23.

No mercy was shown by the Cardinals, putting up 21-6 to start. The girls were shooting for big numbers while keeping the opponent in single digits. When the buzzer rang, the Cards were in the lead by 40 points, giving them the win easily.

Adyson Peterson scored high with 20 points, three rebounds and two steals; Gracie Williamson had 13 points, nine rebounds and six steals; Annabelle Barlow also 13 points, six rebounds and six steals; Pyper Ickes 10 points, eight rebounds and four steals; Loretta Scofield five points and one rebound; Lily Bauer two points and one rebound; Emerson Mlnarik eight rebounds and four steals and Casey Clements one rebound.

Two days later, the Cardinals were face-to-face with the Stuart Broncos, and this was bound to be a good game.

The Cards pulled ahead early, taking a four-point lead to start the match. Things quickly turned around when the Broncos snapped back with 12 points while the Cards struggled with six.

At this point, the Cards went all out and scored a huge 17-7 to put themselves back at the top. Knowing it was close to the end, the Broncos also gave it their all and put up nine points to bring their final tally to 41. With the Cardinal's 43 points, they still claimed victory in the end.

This was an epic match, with tons of back-and-forth shooting, but the Cards were just one step ahead of their opponent.

Peterson led her team to victory with 13 points and six rebounds; Ickes also had 13 points, two rebounds and one steal; Williamson close with 12 points, eight rebounds and one steal; Barlow five points, two rebounds and two steals and Mlnarik seven rebounds and one steal.

After another short break, the girls were back out on the court, this time  on neutral territory facing Boyd County in round one of the NVC Conference Tournament.

The Cards were fierce in this game, scoring 44 points in just the first half alone, while the Spartans were lagging behind with only 14.

An additional 17 points post-halftime gave the Cards another win and another flawless week of games.

Peterson once again led with a huge 23 points and three steals; Williamson had 16 points, five rebounds and four steals; Barlow nine points, five rebounds and 10 steals; Ickes nine points, four rebounds and five steals; L. Bauer three points and three rebounds; Mlnarik one point and three rebounds; Scofield one rebound and Olivia Bauer one steal.
