The Lady Eagles continued their string of great games last week when they faced Norfolk Catholic and West Holt. On Tuesday, Jan. 28, they visited Norfolk Catholic and took down the host 45-35. The Eagles started strong, claiming a big 13-5 from the start. The Knights upped their play and took a three-point advantage in the second to try to balance things out. After half-time, the Eagles went on the defensive to maintain their lead. They put up good enough numbers to keep themselves steady at the top of the scoreboard. Mady Heiss led the team with 13 points, two rebounds and three steals; Taylor Young had 12 points, three rebounds and three steals; Hannah Hilker six points, four rebounds and one steal; Bergyn Classen six points and two rebounds; Mariah Kallhoff five points and two rebounds; Ashley Sidak three points; Olivia Young one rebound and Rylee Selby one steal. From the start, the Eagles took a titanic lead, scoring 28 points while holding their opponent to only nine. Quarters three and four weren't as brutal as the opening, but it was enough for the Eagles to remain dominant throughout the game's final moments. Hilker had a big game with 22 points and one steal; Sidak had 10 points, one rebound and one steal; Kallhoff six points, four rebounds and two steals; Heiss five points, four rebounds and four steals; T. Young two points, four rebounds and one steal; Selby and Classen two points and two rebounds; O. Young one point, three rebounds and one steal and Mia Lindsey and Serena Chavez one rebound.
