Avera Welcomes First Baby of 2025

Avera St. Anthony's Hospital is excited to share that Zayne Shoemaker was the first baby born in 2025.
He was delivered at 8:41 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, to Brant and Chasity Shoemaker of O'Neill. Zayne weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.
He joins an older brother, Kayson.
"The doctors and nurses are all very helpful," the parents stated. “We appreciate everything they do.”
