Lady Cardinals Destroy Competition

The 2024-25 basketball season at St. Mary's Catholic School began last Thursday, Dec. 5, when the girls hosted Randolph at 6 p.m. 

This was a landslide victory for the Cardinals, dominating by a score of 79-8 over Randolph. The Cardinals were on top of defense and offense the whole time, not letting almost any time go to Randolph. This match also acts as a reminder to anyone who challenges the lady Cardinals to be prepared to play ball.

Gracie Williamson killed it the first match with 27 points, four rebounds and three steals; Annabelle Barlow had 18 points, six rebounds and seven steals; Adyson Peterson 13 points, one rebound and four steals; Pyper Ickes 12 points, four rebounds and eight steals; Emerson Mlnarik  six points, five rebounds and four steals; Lily Bauer two points; Loretta Scofield one point, one rebound and one steal and Casey Clements and Oliva Bauer one steal each.

One day later the Cardinals would travel quite a ways away to Riverside where they would face their next opponent. 

The game started similarly to last, with the Cards putting up 33 points in the first half while holding the Chargers to just 11. 

A further 28 points in the end gave the Cards the clear advantage over Riverside, who managed just 21 points to end the game.

Williamson again dominated with 19 points, 11 rebounds and five steals; Adyson Peterson had 18 points, six rebounds and three steals; Ickes nine points, seven rebounds and 10 steals; Barlow seven points, two rebounds and four steals; Mlnarik six points and three rebounds; Bauer two points and two rebounds and Scofield one rebound and one steal.
