The O'Neill Eagles suffered their first loss of the season on Friday, Oct. 25, when they lost 31-14 to Columbus Lakeview at home. The Eagles finished the season 8-1. The Eagles offense was shut down from the start, putting up only 135 total rushing yards and 105 yards passing. Brady Eichelberger had 17 carries for a tough-earned 80 yards; Porter Mathews had five for 52 yards, and Turner Heiss had two carries for two yards and a touchdown. The Lakeview secondary kept tabs on the Eagle air game, limiting them to 105 yards. Brady Eichelberger had two catches for 22 yards and one touchdown; Pryor Mathews three catches for 36 yards; Westen Kohl had two catches for 11 yards; Heiss had one catch for 25 yards; Porter Mathews one catch for six yards and Matt Ross had one catch for five yards. Porter Mathews led the Eagle defense with 14 tackles; Grady Welke and Noah Manchester each had eight tackles; Reese Grosch had six tackles; Heiss had five tackles; James Grenier had four tackles; Braxen Eichelberger, Pryor Mathews and Easton Cook three tackles; Brady Eichelberger, Cort Chohon and Ian Yates two tackles each; and Westen Kohl one tackle. The Eagles will travel to Auburn for a 5:15 game on Friday, Nov.1, to face the Auburn Bulldogs, who just came off a 53-0 win over Nebraska City.
