Date: October 8, 2024 The Holt County Weed Board met in regular session. This meeting was publicized pursuant to Section 84-1411 R.R.S, 1943 Notice of meeting given in advance thereof by publication in paper as shown by Affidavit of Publication on KBRX October 7th, 2024, on the radio. John Hammerlun convened the meeting at 7:00 P.M. and informed the public of the location of the Open Meeting Poster. The meeting started at 6:30 P.M. Present: Dan Drueke, Tom Welsh, Dan Pribil, John Hammerlun, Supervisor Dustin Breiner and Weed Superintendent William Babutzke. Excused: Kevin DeKay Guest: Caleb Ross Minutes Approved: Dan Drueke made a motion to approve the minutes and Tom Welsh seconded. All approved Claims Approved: Dustin Breiner made a motion to approve the claims and Dan Pribil seconded. All approved. Old Business / N/A New Business: Inspections. Bill has finished the year's inspections. A lot of spraying has been done in the dry areas. Had one complaint in the southeast corner of the county and Bill responded and took care of the matter. A new computer was purchased for the Weed Dept. The 13 year-old laptop was replaced. All information was saved. Bill will return to shredding next week. Bill will investigate purchasing a fire extinguisher for the skid loader. He will focus on trees, brush and snow catching areas. Information on the following list of twelve noxious weeds found in Nebraska can be located at the neweed.org website with sufficient information on each noxious weed. Canada Thistle, Musk Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Purple Loosestrife, Spotted Knapweed, Diffuse Knapweed, Saltcedar, Phragmites, Giant Knotweed, Japanese Knotweed, Sericea Lespedeza, Leafy Spurge. A date was set for the next meeting. November 7th, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Holt County Weed Office. Dan Pribil made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Tom Welsh seconded. All approved.
