Thursday, Oct. 17th, the O'Neill Eagles Cross Country competed in the C-3 district. Two individuals qualified to run at the NSAA State Championship this Friday, Oct. 25th, held at Kearney Country Club. Max Berg placed ninth, and Taya Dickau 12th. The boys team placed fourth overall with the rest of the team members Paul Fonseca 19th, Tomas Arciniega 24th, Trevor Alder 28th, Brock Latzel 34th, and Brandon Romero 36th. The rest of the OHS girls team ran as individuals with Mollie Corkle 38th, and Hailey Romesser 41st. “Boys team was just one place off from qualifying for state, placing fourth. I really was proud of their efforts,” said Coach Hilker. “Mollie and Hailey ran hard,” said Hilker. This Friday, Oct. 25th, Max will compete in the NSAA Class C Boys State Championships at 3 p.m. and Taya will compete in the girl's state race at 4 p.m. Both races will be run at the Kearney Country Club.
