The O'Neill Eagles toppled another opponent this past Friday with a 13-7 win over the Pierce Bluejays. Pierce, usually a football powerhouse, fell to a top-notch Eagle defense. This is the first time the Eagles have defeated Pierce since the 2016 season when they beat them 34-14.

The Eagles, who have played incredible defense this year, stonewalled the Bluejays until the end of the fourth quarter. The Eagles drove down the field in the first quarter, and Brady Eichelberger ran around the end and got the Eagles into the endzone for six.

The Bluejays got on the board in the fourth when Ryder Theisen ran in Pierce's only game score. The Eagles came back with a score in the fourth when Porter Mathews intercepted a throw from Pierce quarterback Brock Collison for six, and Eichelberger kicked the Pat to put the Eagles up 13-0.

The Eagles ran 44 plays for ten first downs and had four penalties for 33 yards.

Brady Eichelberger led the Eagle offense with 12 carries for 75 yards and one touchdown; Porter Mathews 10 carries for 40 yards; Grady Welke five carries for 33 yards; Pryor Mathews one carry for four yards; and Turner Heiss with five carries for three yards.

Pryor Mathews and Westen Kohl each had two receptions, with Mathews catching one for 50 yards and Kohl for 17 yards.

Porter Mathews led the Eagles with 12 tackles and one interception for a touchdown; Pryor Mathews 12 tackles; Welke 11 tackles; Reese Grosch eight tackles; Heiss and Easton Cook each had seven tackles; Ian Yates had four tackles; Brady Eichelberger and James Griener each had two tackles and Cort Chohon one tackle.
