O'Neill Football 5-0 With Solid 41-21 Win Over Wayne

Oct 2, 2024 (0)

The O'Neill Eagle Football team is getting the job done this year. They racked up another win, their fifth of the season, with a solid 41-21 win at Wayne. The Eagles have won three of their games this season by 20 points or more. The Eagles dominated the game, pulling out to 28-14 at the half.

Brady Eichelberger had a good game, rushing for 165 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. Turner Heiss was also in the mix, providing O'Neill with two touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the score, O'Neill was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 304 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Brady Eichelberger led the Eagles with 15 carries for 165 yards and one touchdown; Porter Mathews had four carries for 57 yards and one touchdown; Grady Welke had four carries for 53 yards and one touchdown; Turner Heiss had four carries for 14 yards and two touchdowns; Pryor Mathews three carries for nine yards; and Colten Shoemaker with one carry for eight yards.

Westen Kohl led the Eagles in receiving two catches for 50 yards; Pryor Mathews had one catch for 19 yards, and Braxten Eichelberger had one catch for four yards.

Leading the defense for the Eagles was Pryor Mathews with eight tackles and Turner Heiss and Porter Mathews with seven tackles each. Brady Eichelberger had five tackles; Cort Chohon had four tackles; Welke had three tackles; and Braxten Eichelberger and Matt Ross each had one tackle.

O'Neill will face Pierce at 7 p.m. on Friday. O'Neill is facing Pierce at the right time, as Pierce is on a three-game losing streak.
