Chambers/Wheeler Central could not break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The Anselmo-Merna Coyotes outmatched them at home and fell 50-14. The Renegades were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-8. Chambers/Wheeler Central now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Anselmo-Merna, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games dating back to last season, leaving them with a 1-4 record. The Renegades rushed for 124 yards, led by Cooper Pokorny, who had seven carries for 76 yards and one touchdown; Michael Jesse, who ran 17 carries for 27 yards; Elijah Heinz, who had three carries for 16 yards; and Carter Metschke, who had two carries for five yards. Pokorny also led the Renegades receiving with five catches for 23 yards and one touchdown; Heniz had four catches for 54 yards; Mason Knox had one for 32 yards, and Metschke had one catch for five yards. Leading the defense for the Renegades was Parker Frouef with 14 tackles; Heinz had ten tackles; Jackson Wright had eight tackles; Pokorny had seven tackles; Jesse and Knox had six tackles each; Zane Potter had five tackles; Garett Renner had three tackles; Zach Miner two tackles and Hayes Pokonry and Maddox Mcmanigal had one tackle each. The Renegades will travel to Palmer on Friday, Oct. 4.
