The O'Neill Eagles, who now have a 4-0 record, got another road win, devastating the Ponca Indians 33-13.

The Eagles traveled to Ponca last Friday to take on the Indians for the first time in school history. The Eagles came out and scored on the opening drive. Each team took a lot of time off the clock, with only four total possessions in the first quarter, with the Indians leading 7-6 after the first. The Eagles would have the lone score in the second quarter, making it 13-7 at halftime. "In the first half, we moved the ball down the field, but penalties and an interception prevented them from putting any other points on the scoreboard."

The second half started with a time-consuming drive that ended in a tipped pass by Reese Grosch that Ian Yates picked out of the air and raced 80 yards for a Touchdown.  "This play was a big momentum swing for our team, and we never looked back.  Our kids played hard, and I was impressed with our running attack all night!"  The Eagles ran for 270 yards with Brady Eichelberger leading the way with 130 and a Touchdown." Said Coach Eichelberger.

"We were also efficient in the passing game with Turner Heiss going 6-8 with a Touchdown and one interception. This was a very good team win on the road for our program!  The Eagles move to 4-0 and travel to Wayne this Friday.  O'Neill's defense has only allowed 15.2 points per game this season, so Wayne's offense will have their work cut out.

Brady Eichelberger led the Eagle rushing with 13 carries for 130 yards and one touchdown, and Turner Heiss with nine carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

Westen Kohl led the Eagle receivers with one catch for 14 yards and one touchdown; Brady Eichelberger one catch for 13 yards; Pryor Mathews one for 12 yards; Eston Cook one for six yards; and Matt Ross one for six yards.

Leading the Eagle's defense were Pryor Mathews with 11 tackles; Turner Heiss and Cort Chohon with five tackles each; Porter Mathews and Grady Welke had four tackles each; Brady Eichelberger and Drake Brandt with two tackles each; and Braxen Eichelberger, Cook, Ross, and Kohl one tackle each.
