Albion —Tracy Kay Hedlund, 48, of Albion, died Monday, June 10, 2024 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha surrounded by her family.

Visitation was held Thursday, June 13, 2024 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion with a wake service.

Funeral services were held Friday June 14, 2024 at the church in Albion. Fr. Stan Schmit and Deacon Paul Weeder officiated.

Private family burial was held at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Albion.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Levander Funeral Home in Albion was in charge of the arrangements.

Tracy, daughter of Richard and Janet (Engelhaupt) Ellwanger, was born on Feb. 29, 1976, in Sargent. Tracy was baptized and confirmed into the catholic faith at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Butte. Tracy attended Butte High School and graduated with the class of 1994. Following high school, Tracy went to the University of South Dakota where she earned her degree in nursing.  

On July 7, 1995, Tracy married the love of her life Randall C. Hedlund at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Butte. From this union they were blessed with five children. The couple lived in Vermillion, SD and Bloomington, MN before moving to Albion in 2000. 

Tracy has been a registered nurse at Boone County Health Center along with being a coach, wife, mother and grandmother. 

Tracy was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, chairman of the Albion Softball program, participated in Teammates and was on the board for St. Michael's School and the Country Club. Tracy was a fan of the Huskers and Boone Central Cardinals. She enjoyed attending her children's activities and sports throughout the years. She was beyond proud of all of them!

Tracy leaves behind her husband Randy Hedlund of Albion; five children Tyler (Braley) Hedlund of Omaha, Tessa (Scott) Ketteler of Lincoln, Lauren Hedlund of Sioux City, Iowa, Ashtyn Hedlund of Kearney, and Addy Hedlund of Albion; one granddaughter Meredith Hedlund of Omaha; parents Richard and Janet Ellwanger of Butte; one sister Cari (Jason) Hausmann of Bonesteel, SD; one brother Wade Ellwanger of Butte; mother-in-law and father-in-law Dean and Diane Hedlund of O'Neill; four brothers-in-law Kelly (Jill) Hedlund of Manhattan, KS, Todd (Kelly Ann) Hedlund of Lincoln, Mike (Carol) Hedlund of O'Neill and Troy (Deb) Hedlund of Sioux City, Iowa; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Al and Laurine Engelhaupt and Bob and Irene Ellwanger.

The Hedlund family thanks those who attended and also for all of the kind words and expressions of sympathy.
