Chadron State College junior Christopher Jennings of O'Neill earned the silver medal in the 35-pound weight throw at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Indoor Track and Field Championships recently at Spearfish, S.D. Jennings' mark was 18.65 meters, or 61 feet, 2 ½ inches, a career best. It also is the fourth best all-time at Chadron State and is a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II National Indoor Meet that will be March 8-10 at Pittsburg, Kan. During the indoor season, Jennings won the weight throw at four meets and was the runner-up at two others, prior to the conference meet. His best mark a year ago was 57-10 ¼. He is a pre-med major and an honor student at Chadron State. His parents are Nathaniel and Molly Wilkins.
