Students from O'Neill, St. Mary's, West Holt and Stuart were given the opportunity to examine medical professions courtesy of the Avera St. Anthony's Scrub Camp held last Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the Northeast Community College O'Neill Campus. Students were able to transition through medical job stations set up throughout the college with the students covering surgery, nursing, anesthesia, lab, pharmacy, radiology, physical and occupational therapy, respiratory and dietary support services. The camp covered most professions that are available in areas in the Avera St. Anthony's facility. The students were able to ask Avera Health Care professionals about the education needed to attain their jobs and what duties the hospital personal perform on a day to day basis. The students were treated to a lunch outside where a couple of pre-hospital care career opportunities were present with the O'Neill Ambulance and the Avera Care Flight Helicopter were available for the students to tour.
