O'NEILL'S ASHLEY SIDAK (9) gets set to hit the ball back over the net.

The O'Neill Eagles volleyball team seem to have bitten off more than they can chew last week when they took up a five-match challenge.

In their first match-up last Tuesday, the Eagles played consistently and gave Summerland a good game. There were a lot of twists and turns, and the winner would only be really known at the end. The Eagles did come out the victor in a 3-2 close game.

Autumn Hilker was MVP with 14 kills, three ace serves and 23 digs; Ashley Sidak 14 kills and one ace serve; Aubrey Jackson 12 kills, two ace serves, four blocks, 24 digs and one set assist; Bergyn Classen seven kills and three digs; Olivia Young four kills, three ace serves and 17 digs; Hannah Hilker two kills, two ace serves 10 digs and 49 set assists; Haley Schluns one ace serve and seven digs; and Keeley Chavez 10 digs.

Two days later on Thursday, the Eagles would strike again, this time traveling to Pierce to face the Bluejays. This was a tough match for the Eagles, not being able to keep up in the first two sets. They were able to take third but fumbled in the final, leading to 3-1 loss for the Eagles.

On the same day as last game, the girls took on the Winnebago Indians and totally crushed it. This was a pretty cut-and-dried match, with the Eagles blowing away the competition by over double the amount of points.
