The St. Mary's Girls have made it though district play last week breezing through a 75-42 victory over Paxton Friday, Feb. 24 in Broken Bow.
Right from the beginning, the Cardinals managed a major first quarter win, putting them at a good starting position. Quarter two didn't fair too much better for the Tigers, falling 18-13.
After such a major blow, the Tigers would have to step up their game, but unfortunately for them, the Cards were too powerful. Quarter three saw the Tigers fall behind by an additional six points, and the final quarter was just ruthless. The Cards blew the Tigers away, 21-10. The Tigers had a solid 15-6 score before this match, but the Cardinals still walked all over them.
Alissa Brabec led the Cardinals this match with 23 points, shooting six of 14 three-pointers for 43 percent and two of three two-pointers for 67 percent, as well as two rebounds; Mya Hedstrom just behind with 22 points and two rebounds; Hope Williamson 12 points and eight rebounds; Lorissa Reiman eight points and five rebounds; Gracie Williamson five points and seven rebounds; Ryanne Pistulka three points; Annabelle Barlow two points and five rebounds; and Lily Bauer one rebound.
