Holt County Department of Weeds Proceedings (3-2-2022)

February 9, 2023

Chair John Hammerlun called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Present: Kevin DeKay, Tom Welsh, Dan Drueke, Dan Pribil, Chair John Hammerlun and Bill Babutzke Weed Superintendent.

Excused: Supervisor Dustin Breiner 

Minutes Approved: Dan Drueke made a motion to approve the minutes and Tom Welsh seconded. All approved

Claims Approved: Dan Pribil made a motion to approve the claims and Kevin DeKay seconded. All approved.

Old Business: Tin for the shed was tabled.     

New Business: Hope to start to start shredding next week. 150 hours on the skid loader. Have been pushing snow with the skid loader.

Argo for Holt County through NDA grant, possibly check into what the grant will actually help with. If pay for chemical or not. 

Grant is up in the end of June.  

Information on the following list of twelve noxious weeds found in Nebraska can be located at the neweed.org website with sufficient information on each noxious weed. 

Canada Thistle, Musk Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Purple Loosestrife, Spotted Knapweed, Diffuse Knapweed, Saltcedar, Phragmites, Giant Knotweed, Japanese Knotweed, Sericea Lespedeza, Leafy Spurge.

Next Meeting will be Thursday March 9, at 7:00 PM at the Weed Department Office.  

Dan Pribil made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Dan Drueke seconded. All approved. 

Meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
