Last week was very quiet for the boys over at St. Mary's. They competed against only one school, that being Elgin/Pope John. When the St. Mary's Cardinals traveled to Elgin to face the Wolfpack on Friday, they could've never known the intense game they would play.
The Wolfpack completely dominated in the beginning, leaving the Cardinals in the dust, 15-4. The Cards were down by 11, but they had the whole game to turn it around. They went on the offensive and managed to take second quarter by seven points.
The Cards kept up the heat and by the time that third quarter had ended, the Cards had managed to push past the Wolfpack by two points. The Cardinals had managed to even the playing field, but there was still one quarter left. The Cards brought their A game and managed to completely steal the game with their 22-8 final quarter.
Isaac Everitt scored big with 22 points, shooting three of ten three-pointers for 30 percent and four of seven two-pointers for 57 percent, as well as 11 rebounds; Gage Hedstrom in close second with 17 points and eight rebounds; Sam Barlow eight points and three rebounds; Carson Dannenbring three points and seven points; and Risken Dawson seven rebounds.
