After a few losses, the St. Mary's lady Cardinals are getting back in the groove of things. They recently played two opponents last week, and managed to win with some pretty good scores. Their first game brought them to Elgin/Pope John in order to face off with the Wolfpack. The Cardinals came out on fire, showing their adversary no mercy. The Wolfpack weren't out yet-not even close. They turned things around and claimed the second. By quarter three, both teams were almost evenly matched, but not for long. The Cards went on the offensive and pulled ahead by 10 points. With only one quarter left, the Wolfpack didn't have much time to make up the lost points. They tried their best, but the Cards overpowered them and took the victory 65-45. Lorissa Reiman led the Cards with 22 points, shooting nine of 14 two-pointers for 64 percent, as well as 25 rebounds; Alissa Brabec 18 points; Gracie Williamson 10 points and five rebounds; Mya Hedstrom nine points and eight rebounds; Hope Williamson six points and three rebounds; and Annabelle Barlow two rebounds.
