The St. Mary's Lady Cardinals will play at Pinnacle Bank arena on Thursday morning, Nov. 3, at 9 a.m. taking on the 28-4 Overton Eagles.
On Tuesday, Oct. 25, the Cardinals faced off against Stuart at the sub-district finals, winning in three sets, 25-13, 25-19, and 25-20.
The Cards started on an 8-3 run on the Broncos. The Broncos came back, putting up seven to trail 13-7. The Card's hard work and defense paid off, winning the first set by 12.
The second set was more challenging, as the Lady Broncos came back, putting up 19 points on the Cards having few errors, but the Cards pulled out for the win at the end of the 25-19 set.
The Broncos played tough in the third but came up short again, falling by five to the Card scoring machine.
Mya Hedstrom led the Cards in the match with 26 kills, three blocks, and 13 digs; Lorissa Reiman had 14 kills, one block and four digs; Emma Otte had two kills, two ace serves, two blocks and 10 digs; Hope Williamson one kill and 13 digs; Alissa Brabec one kill, two ace serves, three digs and 42 set assists; and Gracie Williamson one kill.
The Cards then got a chance to host the district game at home on Saturday, Oct. 29, against Wallace. The Cards won the match in four sets losing the first match 24-26, 25-20, 25-18, and 25-27, earning their way to a state berth on Thursday, Nov. 3
