The Stuart Broncos had a pretty solid string of games last week. They were able to defeat two of their three opponents, with the last one being close.

The Broncos played West Holt Tuesday night and came up short after a hard fought five set match against the Huskies. The girls came out flat and lost the first set but were able to battle back and win the second, but unforced errors kept the Broncos from ever getting into a flow the rest of the night. The girls struggled in all of the sets with hitting, serving and passing errors that kept them from ever taking over the match. The Huskies took the win in a close 3-2 match; 16-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21 and 8-15.

Lacey Paxton led with an impressive 24 kills, one ace serve, one block and 17 digs; Sydney Estill 12 kills, six ace serves, 19 digs and 17 set assists; Reagan Stracke five kills, 19 digs and two assists; Addie Kettler four kills, 17 digs and 24 set assists; Sarah Wallinger four kills, two blocks and three digs; Chianna Tubbs one kill, one ace serve and 10 digs; Addison Steinhauser one kill, four blocks and one dig; Trenadi Dodds 22 digs.

Thursday night they continued playing with the same inconsistency against Boyd County, losing the first set. After that, the girls fought it off and played much better the rest of the night in this Ainsworth Triangular. Serve Receive played a big role for the girls getting their passes to the setter and being able to run their offense. Also, good serving was another key factor of coming back against Boyd County, and then winning two sets 2-0 against Ainsworth. The Broncos will start the NVC tournament Monday right in Stuart and they will play the winner of Neligh-Oakdale and Niobrara- Verdigre

The final score for the match against Boyd County was a well fought 2-1; 23-25, 25-16 and 25-14.

Leading the Broncos was Estill with 16 kills, one ace serve, nine digs and eight assists; Paxton 11 kills and 13 digs; Stracke six kills, three ace serves, one block, eight digs and four set assists; Steinhauser four kills, two blocks and one dig; Wallinger three kills, two ace serves and one set assist; Kettler one kill, one ace serve, one block, 15 digs and 20 set assists; Tubbs 15 digs and one set assist; Dodds seven digs and one set assist.

Ainsworth did not go down without a good fight, leading to the final score to be a very close 2-0; 25-20 and 25-19.

Estill still takes the lead with eight kills, two set assists, one block, 13 digs and three set assists; Paxton four kills, two ace serves, 13 digs and one set assist; Stracke four kills, five digs and two set assists; Wallinger two kills, one block and two digs; Steinhauser one kill and one dig; Tubbs two ace serves and 14 digs; Kettler one ace serve, eight digs and 13 set assists; Dodds five digs.
