St. Mary's Head Coach Luke Bulau gives Senior Tate Thompson his state basketball medal.

The St. Mary's boys and girls basketball teams competed in Lincoln at the state tourney last week. 

The St. Mary's boys took second place in the tourney after winning two and but losing in the final round.  

The boys defeated Shelton 60-42 on Tuesday in the first round of the state tournament. Then they downed Osceola 65-36 on Thursday, March 10 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. In the championship game, they faced Parkview Christian of Lincoln and fell 64-48 on Saturday, March 12 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The girls ended up taking fourth in the tourney. They beat Crawford 36-18 in the first round and then fell to Humphrey St. Francis 40-37 which moved the girls to the consolation game where they fell to Sterling 50-40.
