Robert Maxamillion Reiser, age 84, of O'Neill, passed away Tuesday morning, July 17, 2012, at the Golden LivingCenter in O'Neill.
His life was celebrated Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Word of Life Christian Center in O'Neill. Pastors Jim Loutzenhiser II of O'Neill, Gary Binder of Butte and Brian Dahlberg of Lincoln officiated. Songs of praise were sung by Joel Loutzenhiser, his granddaughter Aleigha Holz and Jim Loutzenhiser III.
Inurnment was in the Butte Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Dick Galyen, Tom Storjohann, Leonard Goldfuss, Jim Reiman, Stan Dopehide and Rev. Jim Loutzenhiser I.
Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of arrangements.
Robert was born on July 5, 1928, in Butte to Leo and Agnes (Liewer) Reiser. He met Nina Staples and they were united in marriage on June 6, 1949 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
He was a farmer and a car salesman in Butte. He was a member of the Butte Community Church, Full Gospel Church in Butte, Oaklake Bible Church in Lincoln and Word of Life Church in O'Neill.
Robert's favorite pastime was visiting with anyone and everyone at anytime; he knew no strangers. He enjoyed his work on the farm, especially in the hay field. This was not always a favorite summer activity for the kids, especially on Saturday night.
He also loved buying and selling cars, then pickups, trucks, tractors, trailers, campers and just about anything with wheels. This led to another favorite activity, auction sales.
Robert is survived by his wife, Nina; three sons: Al Reiser and wife Nancy, of Lincoln; John Reiser and wife, Polly of Taoyuan, Taiwan; Jerry Reiser and wife, Joan of Seward; four daughters: Dianne Weidner and husband, Art of Loveland, CO; Bonnie LeGate of Osmond; Debbie Boes and husband, Jerry of Sioux Falls, SD and Marilyn Holz and husband, Mike of O'Neill; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Kathleen Raasch and Delores Johnson, both of Butte; one sister-in-law, Mary Reiser of Sioux Falls, SD, and Leola Riesselman and husband, Merle of Naper; and two brothers: Harold Reiser and wife, Sharon and Ken Reiser and wife Lee, all of Butte.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don Reiser and Duane Reiser; one son-in-law, John LeGate; one grandson, Johnathan Robert Reiser; two brothers-in-law, Cliff Raasch and Ray Johnson and one sister-in-law, Helen Reiser.
