KEATON WATTIER

Keaton Wattier, a sophomore at Wayne State College, broke the WSC 60-meter hurdle record on Jan. 27, at Mankato, Minnesota. He ran a time of 8.19 seconds in prelims to break the previous school mark of 8.20 seconds set by Matt Kneifl in 2001. On Feb. 23,  the Wayne State College track and field athletes attended the 2024 Northern Sun Conference Championships at Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato, Minn. In prelims, Keaton advanced to Saturday's final of the 60-meter hurdles with the #6 qualifying time of 8.17 seconds to eclipse his previous record of 8.19 seconds. On Saturday, Keaton once again broke his record by running a time of 8.08 seconds, which landed him 5th place in that finals race. Keaton's accomplishment moved him to the rank of 37th in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championship Performance List.

Keaton, an O'Neill High School 2022 graduate, is the son of Eric and Lynn Wattier, grandson of Theresa Parks of Norfolk and Elizabeth Wattier of Osmond.
