Warren W. Klinetobe, age 79, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at his home in Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. at The Word of Life Christian Center in O'Neill with Rev. Jim Loutzenhiser officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
Burial was in the O'Neill Cemetery with military rites conducted by the O'Neill American Legion Simonson Post #93 Firing Squad and escorted by the American Legion Riders Simonson Post #93.
Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of arrangements.
Warren was born on March 29, 1933, in Center to William and Florence (Tweedy) Klinetobe. He was one of 14 children. He attended school in Ewing and later earned his GED in the military.
He served in the U.S. Navy from June 25, 1951, until his discharge on June 14, 1955. He attended college in San Diego, CA. Warren met Shirley Hancock and they were married on Dec. 31, 1954, in San Diego, CA.
Warren was very active in the Assembly of God Church in San Diego, CA. After he got out of the military he worked for Sim Harris Construction Company. In 1977 he went to Iraq for two years with the Starr Construction Company. He retired in 1992.
He bought acreage in El Dorado Springs, MO, and he loved working the land. He also loved to spend his time fishing and traveling with his church to Russia and Israel.
Warren is survived by his wife, Shirely of El Dorado Springs, MO; two children, Gwendolyn Langford and husband Gary of San Francisco, CA, and Rick Klinetobe and wife Carlene of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Carol Appleby of Shawnee, KS, Gwen Kucera of Omaha and Audrey Colfack of Ewing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters.
Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
