Memorial services will be held in the spring of 2024.

Burial will be in the Chambers Cemetery in Chambers.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements.

Warren was born on Dec. 12, 1947, at home in rural Chambers. He was the fifth of 10 children born to Bernard and Doris Rickard.

Warren graduated from Chambers High School in 1966 and went on to attend Milford Tech School. He later worked at Grosch Irrigation in O'Neill, where he met Peggy.

He and Peggy were married in 1977 and settled in the O'Neill area. They moved to California in 1987, where they made their home for 33 years.

While in California, Warren worked for the City of Rocklin, before retiring in 2002.

He and Peggy enjoyed their beautiful acreage near Newcastle, where Warren tinkered in his shop, enjoyed golfing and stayed faithful to his Huskers.

In 2020, they returned to Holt County, to be back home near family and friends. He loved sharing their acreage and fishing pond with family that came to visit nearly every weekend.

Warren was at home, on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, when he entered into the arms of the Lord after a brief battle with an aggressive form of lung cancer. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Warren is survived by his wife Peggy of 46 years; his three children Shelly Ross, Greg (Sandy) Rickard and Tammy (Travis) Dimmitt; his two stepchildren Ken (Julie)  Nichols and Lori (Travis) Rodgers; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven siblings Verlin (Pat) Rickard, Gary Rickard, Glenda Mudloff, Vicki (Bill) Tomjack, Darla (Rick) Cox, Eddie (Janet) Fleek and Shelda (Martin) Rickard; three sisters-in-law Sue (Keith) Kasselder, Dixie (Duane) Kruntorad and Tammy (Jim) Hinkle; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Doris Rickard; Peggy's parents Walt and Mary Field; his three brothers Alan, Martin and Marvin Rickard; one sister Janet Fleek; three brothers-in-law Dale Mudloff, Keith Kasselder and Duane Kruntorad; and two grandchildren Emily Nichols and Chelsey Dimmitt.
