Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church in O'Neill in Viona's name.

Viona, daughter of Louis and Esther (Harlan) Burgett, was born on June 28, 1938 in Rock County.

Viona was born and raised on her parents' cattle ranches, first in southern Rock County and then south of Amelia in Holt County. She was always very proud of her ranch upbringing and there was never a chore or job she couldn't handle including working cattle with horses and driving mowers and a sweep in the hayfield. These experiences helped her easily connect with all of the customers of the O'Neill Veterinary Clinic where Viona managed the reception and office for many years.

Viona was a very strong, proud and fierce supporter of her immediate and extended family and was always greatly interested in, attended and supported every type of interest and activity her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were involved in.

Viona was a long-time member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and her faith was very important to her.

She also loved to travel and she and her husband Jerry took trips all over the country visiting family as well as destination vacations.

Viona engaged in bowling and golf and enjoyed socializing with a wide variety of friends.

Viona is survived by her husband of 64 years Jerry Cuddy; her four children Tim (Kim) Cuddy of Bozeman, MT, Jeannie (Mark) Thomas of Kearney, MO, Ken (Judy) Cuddy, and Gary (Stephanie) Cuddy, both of Lincoln; eight grandchildren Aimee (James) Elam, Caitlin (Brian) West, Ryan (Amy) Cuddy, Jeremiah (Hannah) Cuddy, Erin Cuddy, Emily Cuddy, Joshua Cuddy and Abby Cuddy; eight great-grandchildren Ava Elam, Lincoln Elam, Henry West, Rose West, Truman Elam, Franklin Elam, Callan Cuddy and Faye Cuddy; one brother Wayne (Eileen) Burgett of Amelia; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter Jami Marie Cuddy.
