The O'Neill Chamber of Commerce will hold two ribbon cuttings this Friday, August 12. The first ribbon cutting will be at 10 a.m. at 115 N. 5th St. in O'Neill. CASA of North Central Nebraska will be hosting the event. Nebraska CASA Association is a network of 22 local programs in Nebraska serving 54 counties. They recruit, screen, train and support Court Appointed Special Advocates. Those advocates are volunteers - just like you - who are appointed by a judge to speak for the well-being of abused and neglected children. The executive director for the O'Neill office is John Robert Smith, who is a native of O'Neill and a St. Mary's Catholic High School graduate. The second ribbon cutting will be at C&S Repair at the corner of first and Douglas. This is the former site of O'Neill Tire & Supply which was ran for years by Lawrance Marx who retired earlier in the summer.
